A beloved former Winnipeg Jet will be honoured by the mayor Friday.
Brian Bowman will present Teemu Selanne with the key to the city at the MTS Centre.
The city said the key is to recognize Selanne’s achievements on and off the ice in Winnipeg, including his legacy in the hearts of Winnipeg hockey fans.
Selanne is in town to play in Saturday’s NHL Heritage Classic Alumni Game. He’ll be facing off against hockey greats like Wayne Gretzky.
