A Manitoba mother with a missing son has started campaign to raise awareness about people who have vanished.

Lydia Daniels' son Colten Pratt has been missing in the fall of 2014. This weekend, men's dress ties were wrapped on bridges in Long Plain First Nation and in downtown Winnipeg.

This weekend she travelled from Pratt’s home community of Long Plain First Nation to places he frequented in downtown Winnipeg.

"We chose the tie because we feel that it symbolizes the ties that bind us to our children, to our missing men, and it connects us to each other,” said Daniels.

Daniels hopes something might jog someone's memory. She was inspired by the red ribbon campaign for missing and murdered indigenous women, she said.

Pratt left the Marlborough Hotel in downtown Winnipeg on November 6, 2014 around 9:30 p.m.

This spring, new information surfaced that Pratt was spotted at a bus shelter at Main Street and Redwood Avenue after that.

Daniels encourages others to hang ties for their missing loved ones. She's also looking for tie donations to help continue the project. People can contact Daniels through the her Facebook group.
