Water - 500 ml

Brown sugar - 1 cup

Ketchup - 250 ml

Tomato juice - 200 ml

Vinegar - 200 ml

Ginger, fresh, grated - 30 ml

Cold water - 100 ml

Cornstarch - 60 ml

Add 500 ml water with the brown sugar, ketchup, tomato juice, vinegar and ginger. Bring to a boil and then reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes.

Mix the cold water and cornstarch. Bring the simmering mixture to a boil and add the cornstarch mixture to it.

Taste and adjust seasoning. If it is too thick add a little fruit juice or tomato juice. If it is too thin cook it longer or add a little more cornstarch and water.
