Phone scam collects donations for fake publications about missing kids

Police are warning about a phone scam involving fake publications claiming to help find missing kids.

The scam involves a fictitious company called C & K Canada, said police in a news release. The suspect calls victims requesting donations for publications on missing children.

The phone number [phone] might appear on the call display.

Anyone who receives a call like this should not engage with the caller or send any payments, said police.

Police encourage the public to talk to others about the scam, especially anyone who may be susceptible to these tactics.
