The Manitoba government’s Bill 18 passed along with a number of other bills at the closing session of the legislature on Friday.

The anti-bullying bill drew hundreds of speakers, both for and against it, during public hearings.

The province said the bill aims to protect “all students from bullying and create safer, more inclusive schools.”

Among the other bills that passed are Bill 2, the Highway Traffic Amendment Act, to protect police and emergency personnel at roadsides and Bill 21, the Highway Traffic Amendment Act , aimed at increasing penalties for drunk driving.
