A crash near Main Street and Aberdeen Avenue late Friday night sent four people to hospital and damaged several vehicles. Now, police are looking into what role speed and alcohol might have played.

A truck was speeding south on Main Street around 11:30 p.m. when it hit a car that had just turned onto Main from eastbound Aberdeen Avenue, said police. The truck then broke through a chain link fence into a parking lot and hit eight other vehicles.

Daniel Tessier was on a bus when he saw the wreckage. “All of a sudden I see this smoke in the air, the bus stops, the driver starts to call 911,” he said.

When he went over to check on the victims, Tessier said the truck had flipped over and both occupants appeared to be injured.

Both occupants of the first car and the passenger from the truck were sent to hospital in stable condition. The driver of the truck went to hospital in critical condition and is now stable.
