A Winnipeg man has been charged with impaired driving after a fatal collision that killed a 29-year-old woman early Sunday morning.

The incident happened just before 5 a.m. in the RM of Tache, after a crash between a car and a pickup truck.

RCMP said the driver of the car, a woman from Winnipeg, was pronounced dead on scene.

All three occupants of the truck sustained non-life threatening injuries and are in stable condition, according to police.

Colin Robert Simard, 18, has been charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle causing death and bodily harm, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death and bodily harm and criminal negligence causing death and bodily harm.

Police said the investigation is ongoing. Simard was taken into police custody.
