Winnipeggers have been in need of warmer temperatures and many hit the streets Friday for some good food, good fun and good weather.

Wait times for food vendors on Broadway were nearly 40 minutes long during the lunch hour May 23.

But for people looking to have a quick snack outdoors, that didn’t matter.

"This is the most amazing day of the year so far and I look forward to coming out many more times and enjoying the food trucks here on Broadway,” said Shaun Ferguson.

That’s good news for food truck owners who say it was slow start to the season.

But one look down the street today proved business booms with warm weather.

Derek Collins owns the Poutine King Food Truck and said it’s nearly three times as busy on days like Friday.

Hot dog vendor Kevin Kozakewich agrees.

"With the warmer weather basically everyone's out just chilling grabbing a cold drink -- and we got delicious dogs for that,” said Kozakewich.

You can catch most food vendors on Broadway Monday to Friday during the lunch hour.
