Malls and Shopping Centres

Garden City Shopping Centre: November 11, 1:00 PM - 6:00 PM

Other Retail

in Manitoba, most non-essential businesses are required to close until 1 p.m. on Nov. 11 to commemorate Canadian contributions and sacrifices in wars and international conflicts.

Remembrance Day this year falls on a Sunday and retailers in communities that normally allow Sunday shopping can be open, but must follow both the Remembrance Day rules and the Retail Businesses Holiday Closing Act (Sunday shopping rules).  This means retail businesses can be open no earlier than 1 p.m. and must close no later than 6 p.m.

Civic Offices

Civic offices are closed on Monday, November 12.

Libraries

Winnipeg Public Library branches will open for regular business hours on Monday, November 12.  In past years, libraries may have been closed as a result of Remembrance Day falling on a Sunday.  All Library branches will be closed on Remembrance Day itself, Sunday, November 11, 2012. Sir William Stephenson Library will be closed on Monday, per their regular schedule.

Recycling/Garbage Collection Schedule

Single-family homes

Recycling and garbage will be collected on Monday, November 12, for those residents with Monday as their new weekly automated cart collection day. Yard waste will also be collected for those residents with a scheduled pickup on Monday, November 12.

Brady Road Landfill hours of operation

• Saturday, November 10 - 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• Sunday, November 11 - Closed
• Monday, November 12 - 5:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Winnipeg Transit Holiday Service Schedule

For Sunday, November 11, Winnipeg Transit will operate on a Sunday schedule. For Monday, November 12, Winnipeg Transit will operate on a normal weekday schedule.

Swimming Pools

All City of Winnipeg indoor swimming pools will be closed on Sunday, November 11 with the exception of Pan Am Pool and the Cindy Klassen Recreation Complex. Pan Am Pool will be open 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and the Cindy Klassen Recreation Complex will be open from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

City indoor swimming pools will be open for regular operating hours on Monday, November 12.

Animal Services Agency

The Animal Services Agency will be closed on Sunday, November 11.

Regular hours are in effect for Saturday, November 10 and Monday, November 12.

Cemeteries

Cemetery grounds at Brookside, St. Vital and Transcona Cemeteries will be open for visitation from dawn to dusk over the Remembrance Day weekend including Sunday, November 11 and Monday, November 12.

All City of Winnipeg golf courses are closed for the season.

Winnipeg Parking Authority

The Winnipeg Parking Authority offices will be closed on Saturday, November 10 and Monday, November 12. The Winnipeg Parking Authority offices are not open on Sundays.
