Police arrested a man after a robbery suspect fled in a vehicle and collided with a car near the Ikea in Winnipeg on Thursday morning.

Around 10 a.m., police responded to the 4900 block of Roblin for a report of a bank robbery.

A lone male suspect robbed the financial institution and fled the scene in a vehicle, said police.

No injuries were reported.

A short while later, the suspect’s vehicle was spotted driving erratically near Wilkes Avenue and Shaftesbury Boulevard.

The vehicle then crashed near Kenaston Boulevard and Lowson Crescent.

The suspect tried to run off, but was arrested and taken into custody.

Police said an adult male is facing charges.
