RCMP in Riverton have recovered the body of a 14-year-old boy who was presumed drowned Wednesday night.

They say his body was pulled from the Icelandic River near the Riverton Arena Saturday morning.

The boy was on a boat with two other young people Wednesday night, when they decided to go for a swim in the river and dove off the boat.

Two of them resurfaced. The 14-year-old boy did not.

Officers spent Saturday afternoon notifying family members.

An autopsy will be done in Winnipeg, however foul play is not suspected.

CFS to investigate foster-dad

Meanwhile Child and Family Services officials are investigating the 24-year-old man who was serving as the teen's foster-parent at the time of his drowning.

Riverton residents told CTV News the boy was placed in his care last Monday.

The man, who is just 24-years-old, already had three other foster children, and that is raising questions.

Southeast Child and Family Services say the man's age is not an issue.

They say the man has experience caring for children because his mother fostered kids for many years.

Still, Southeast CFS says it will review the foster father and his file, to see if any signs were missed.

They won't say if the other three foster children will remain in his care.
