Nominees up for Children's Album of the Year at the Juno Awards performed for kids and their parents at the Junior Junos.

More than 350 people attended the sold-out concert at the Children’s Museum, which gave children a front-row seat to some of the best music for young people in Canada.

Aside being honoured to be nominated, performers say playing for children isn't as easy as you might think.

"Children are fantastic,” Gary Rasberry.“Working with children they can be a really tough audience but they are beautiful. They are very attentive and a joy."

The singer-song writer says holding the event in a children's museum means there are plenty of colourful distractions, but enjoyed performing in such a unique setting.

The museum says the best part of hosting the concert has been the excitement of the awards.

"It's definitely a party atmosphere,” said spokesperson Lisa Dziedzic.“I' mean, we’ve got parents rocking out with their kids, kids in party dresses and dancing up a storm. It's great."

The museum says in addition to the live music, because of the Junos, discovering so many musicians from across Canada has been a great opportunity.
