The RCMP have confirmed the arrest of a 23-year-old man. Aaron Daniel Driver was arrested in accordance to a peace bond on June 5.
"Police may pursue the order with conditions such as to keep the peace and be of good behaviour if they have reasonable grounds to believe that a person may commit a terrorism offence,” said Sgt Bert Paquet of the RCMP.
Driver was remanded in into custody and is to appear in court again on June 9.
According to neighbours, undercover police have been seen in the Charleswood area monitoring a house on Carlotta Crescent for a couple of months. On June 4, officers removed items from his residence including what appeared to be computers.
RCMP said they will not comment any further as there is an ongoing criminal investigation.
