The two sides in an ongoing labour dispute at Brandon University in Manitoba met Monday, but only briefly.

A joint statement from the union and the university's board of governors said they planned to meet again Tuesday.

It also said they agreed not to release any details to the media.

A strike-lockout at the university means there have been no classes for 3,200 students since Sept. 29.

The Brandon University Faculty Association represents about 240 employees, including professors, instructional assistants and librarians.

Contract talks had broken off Friday with the two sides miles apart on wages and a number of other issues.
