It's a plan that could change the landscape of our city and CTV viewers have been weighing in.
On Friday David Asper released his plan for a new $400 million football and water park facility; and Bomber fans and tax payers have a list of concerns.
Some viewers wrote in with worries about the crime in the Point Douglas area, fearing for their own safety or the safety of their vehicles while attending a game.
A viewer named Darrin wrote: "I sure won't be buying tickets to go to one the highest crime rate portion of the city to have my vehicle damaged or stolen, nor will I visit the water park only to see bums and hookers hanging around."
Others say the stadium will help rejuvenate a troubled area.
"We always complain about the hookers and dealers that hang around there and maybe if there's a more desirable population moving within that area the less desirable will be driven out. There we go solving two problems at once," a viewer named Alea wrote.
Others were concerned that too much of the money for the project was coming from tax payers. They cited the province's health care problems and the city's crumbling roads as a higher priority for them.
However, the new Point Douglas proposal would cost the province considerably less than the original Polo Park plan at $25 million as opposed to $40 million.
Perhaps Tracey Tarrant said it best when she wrote:
"If they ever build it we will come... Just build it sometime and someplace in our lifetime. Our knees are killing us in the old stadium."
David Asper says he's hopeful the new stadium will be ready for the 2010 season.
