Lac du Bonnet RCMP rescued two hikers after one of them got injured on the Mantario trail.
Police received the call around 3:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two men from Winnipeg stayed on the trail until night fell and the weather worsened, when they called for help.
A float plan from Venture Air in Lac du Bonnet, along with Manitoba Conservation and RCMP officers, rescued the pair on Ritchie Lake around 4:00 p.m.
Police advise hikers to make sure someone knows when you leave and when you expect to come back. Check the weather, bring food and water, and fire lighting supplies.
