There's a new spot for smokers to butt out downtown. It's part of a campaign that asks -- have you "Bin here?"

Four pink cigarette bins will pop up across downtown Winnipeg over the next month.

It's a pilot project to see how much the bins help reduce littering.

Downtown Winnipeg BIZ and Take Pride Winnipeg are behind the effort.

"It's a friendly reminder for Winnipeggers to throw out their cigarette butts in a receptacle located throughout the downtown to ensure that our community and our city looks vibrant, welcoming, and that it’s enjoyable for people that visit and live and play and work downtown," said Jason Syvixay, managing director of the Downtown BIZ

Each bin has a number on it to text or tweet. Creators want people to vote on the location of the bins.

They hope to determine which spots downtown need cigarette disposal sites the most.
