Crews responded to yet another report of broken water pipes flooding Winnipeg streets Saturday.

City crews worked to repair a broken pipe at Logan Avenue and McPhillips Street while water gushed out onto the roadway.

The break was just one of many over the past week, keeping crews busy.

According to a city official, dry conditions have caused shifting underground. A dry winter, summer and fall are to blame for the numerous bursts, according to a city.

Residents in certain areas are being left with low water pressure while repairs are underway. The change in pressure can stir up sediment at the bottom of pipes, leading to discouloured water.

The water isn’t a health concern but shouldn’t be used for things like laundry, the official said.

Officials said if there is a complete stoppage of water, water trucks will be provided.

The city is asking anyone who spots a burst to call 3-1-1.
