Just over a week before the Grey Cup game kicks off in Winnipeg, hundreds of people are trying to unload their tickets online, and many of them are disappointed Blue Bomber fans.

"We were hoping that they were going to be in the Grey Cup, so we got our tickets early,” said former season ticket holder Karen Sones. “Now that they're not in it, we just decided that it wasn't worth going."

Sones put a pair of tickets to the game online at the classified site Kijiji, but thinks it’s really a buyer’s market.

A search for ‘Grey Cup Tickets’ on that site returns over 300 results, with many tickets being offered at a steep discount.

Sones is offering her tickets for $300 each.

"We bought five at one time, it was $2500,” said Sones. “400 bucks a ticket is an awful lot of money if you’re team is not in it.”

A section of temporary seats sits atop the south end of Investors Group Field, bringing capacity for the game to nearly 35,000.

In addition to all the tickets available in the re-sale market, the game hasn’t officially sold out and seats are available in nearly every section of the stadium through Ticketmaster.

Those selling tickets hope for an uptick in interest from out-of-town fans once the teams competing for the championship are determined.

"That's why I put them on now. I thought people will start thinking about it as their team wins or not,” said Sones.
