Police released more details Tuesday in a fatal long weekend crash.

RCMP said one man died and two people were injured in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Highway 59 and Road 32 East, near Libau, Manitoba, around 2:00 p.m. Monday.

Officers confirmed Tuesday the driver killed in the collision was not wearing a seatbelt.

According to police, one pickup truck was travelling southbound with only the driver on board and another pickup was travelling westbound with two people in it.

RCMP said an early investigation showed the southbound pickup truck hit the westbound pickup on the front passenger side as the westbound vehicle tried to cross Highway 59.

The driver of the westbound truck, a 42-year-old man from Libau, was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released by RCMP.

The passenger of that vehicle and the driver of the other truck were both transported to hospital with undisclosed injuries. On Tuesday, RCMP said they were listed in stable condition.

Colin Fast of STARS Air Ambulance said the service was used to transport one of the people injured in the crash.

RCMP continue to investigate the fatal crash.
