Prairie Sailor statue commemorates Battle of the Atlantic

Ceremonies took place across the country Sunday to commemorate the Battle of the Atlantic from the Second World War.

In Winnipeg there was the dedication of a new statue.

It's called the Prairie Sailor statue. It's a project that's been several years in the making.

The Royal Canadian Navy lost 24 warships and suffered over 2000 fatalities during the battle.
