RCMP said Thursday they are searching for two men who may have bilked more than 160 Canadians out of $1.5 million in an investment scam.

Investigators believe people in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Ontario and Alberta were convinced to invest money through ‘BHF Waste Management Limited’ between 2006 and 2008.

Mounties said investors thought they were buying mining rights from a business in Montana, but were actually paying an inflated price to a Shell company that was funneling money to off-shore bank accounts.

Arrest warrants are now out for 66-year-old Douglas Scott and 63-year-old Claude Taillefer.

They have been charged with numerous fraud offences.
