WINNIPEG - There will be a judicial recount following a close result in a Winnipeg constituency in last week's Manitoba election.

The Progressive Conservatives applied for a recount in Elmwood, which New Democrat Jim Maloway won by a margin of 101 votes over Tory Sarah Langevin.

George Orle, lawyer for the Progressive Conservatives, says he is not alleging any wrongdoing.

He says the margin was small enough that the party wants to ensure no mistakes were made, especially because there were many spoiled or declined ballots across the province.

The recount will be overseen by a judge and is scheduled for Monday.

The Tories captured 40 seats on election night compared with 14 for the NDP and three for the Liberals.
