Fire crews across Manitoba are busy fighting wildfires, after dry conditions and high winds have exacerbated several blazes.
Up to 30 fire departments, dozens of firefighters and water bombers have been working extensively over the past 24 hours to extinguish three large wildfires in Souris, Dominion City and St. Laurent.
Provincial officials said there have been no injuries reported or loss of property, but crews are concerned about the fires spreading past control lines as winds pick up.
The province has canceled all burn permits in western, central and eastern areas of Manitoba until significant rainfall. They also said no new burning permits will be issued.
Officials are also asking people to be extremely cautious when using all terrain vehicles in wild land areas.
Officials do not yet know what sparked the fires, are the office of the fire commissioner is investigating.
