Biker gang members are gathering in Winnipeg this weekend and police say they plan to monitor their activity while they’re in the city.
Winnipeg police and RCMP say a large number of gang members will arrive in the city Friday and stay until Saturday.
“The Winnipeg Police Service is committed to the suppression of gang activity through intelligence led policing strategies,” said WPS Organized Crime Division Insp. Max Waddell.
The RCMP will tweet out updates about their activity from their Twitter account.
Police advise anyone travelling on the west and north Perimeter Highway that they may see an increased police presence. They ask motorists to slow down and move over for police vehicles.
