B.C. quarterback Jarious Jackson threw for 340 yards and five touchdowns as the Lions got their first victory of the season in a 42-24 mauling of the Blue Bombers Friday night.

The loss gives Winnipeg (0-3) the dubious distinction of being the CFL's only winless team.

Veteran Lions slotback Geroy Simon had 192 yards receiving and two TD receptions for his 1-2 team, including a 76-yard catch-and-run score. B.C. rookie receiver Clarence Coleman caught TD passes of 13 and nine yards and rookie fullback Rolly Lumbala notched the other TD with a one-yard grab.

Lions kicker Paul McCallum booted field goals of 32 and 37 yards and added a single off a missed 34-yard attempt.

The Bombers, who were often booed by the 26,735 fans at Canad Inns Stadium, got their TDs in the fourth quarter from receiver Derick Armstrong and quarterback Ryan Dinwiddie.

Kicker Alexis Serna booted field goals from 48 and 35 yards and McCallum conceded a pair of safeties to round out Winnipeg's scoring.
