Health Canada said thousands of portable cribs have been recalled because they don’t meet regulations and pose a possible choking hazard.
The recall affects phil&teds traveler portable travel cot version 3 in both black and silver. The product is a foldable, portable crib with four corner posts, a top rim, black mesh sides, a solid bottom and a self-inflating mattress that rests on the floor.
Health Canada said the four plastic clips that attach the mattress to the bottom of the crib do not meet requirements.
Over 5,000 cribs were sold in Canada by various retailers between February 2013 and September 2016.
Health Canada said there haven’t been any reports of injuries or incidents related to the cribs in Canada.
Anyone who bought the product should stop using it and contact the company to receive a free repair kit, including replacement clips. For additional information, call phil&teds at 1-855-652-9019.
