The daughter of a man facing animal cruelty charges has purchased several of her father's horses that were previously seized.

Eleven horses that were seized from Walter Goba went up for auction on Monday.

His daughter, Carla Goba, bought some of the animals.

Others were purchased by Bonnie Riddell who said on Monday she wants to see the horses are properly cared for.

In December, RCMP said charges relating to 44 counts of causing damage or injury to animals were laid against Walter Goba, 68.

He also attended the animal auction Monday, but was taken away in handcuffs by the RCMP for contravening a court order.

Walter Goba is scheduled to make another court appearance later in February.
