The family of a missing 21-year-old woman is issuing a plea for information from anyone who may have seen her.
Christine Wood has not been seen or heard from in two weeks, the Canadian Centre for Child Protection said Friday. It said it’s not typical behvaiour for Wood, and her family is deeply concerned for her safety and well-being.
They are asking for the public’s help in finding her.
“As people head into the long weekend, we are asking them to keep Christine at top of mind,” said Christy Dzikowicz, director of missing children services.
“We need the public to help us find her - any information, no matter how small, could be that piece of information that helps bring her home to her family.”
The centre said Christine and her parents, who are originally from Oxford House First Nation, were in Winnipeg Aug. 19 to go with a family member to a medical appointment. Christine, who was staying with family at a hotel, went out for the night and never returned.
Officials said Christine is familiar with the city because she went to the University of Winnipeg last year. She was last seen in the Polo Park area and is known to spend time in the Osborne Village area.
The centre said she’s believed to be carrying a white purse.
