Manitoba Hydro public meetings about a transmission line project between the province and the state of Minnesota.

Hydro officials hope to hear from First Nations, local municipalities and people living near the project.

Three alternative routes to three potential border crossings will be presented at the meetings.

Manitoba Hydro plans to use feedback from the meeting to help decide on a preferred route.

In 2008, Minnesota Power agreed to buy surplus energy from Manitoba and that a transmission line should be built between the two jurisdictions.

The first open house took place Tuesday at the Headingley Community Centre.

Wednesday, Nov. 13, evening Hydro is holding an open house from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at: Winakwa Community Centre, 980 Winakwa Road.

A full list of the open houses is available on Hydro's website.
