Ontario Provincial Police are asking for help to find a 16-year-old girl from Kenora.
Delaine Copenace was last seen in downtown Kenora, located 211 kilometres east of Winnipeg, on Feb. 27. She was reported missing the next day.
Police describe Copenace as five feet ten inches (155 cm) tall, larger build with long black hair and brown eyes.
She was last seen wearing black etnies skater type shows, a black zippered sweater, a “Bullet for my Valentine” t-shirt and black jeans with zippered pockets.
Police said the search for the teen continues with several emergency and search units responding, supported by a large number of community volunteers.
People in the area are asked to check personal property, yards, outbuildings and outdoor areas.
A public Facebook page, Help us find Delaine Copenace, has been set up for people to join in search efforts, spread the word and offer support.
On Wednesday, Chief Kathy Kishiqueb of Onigaming First Nation announced a cash reward of $2,000 will be awarded to anyone with information leading to the teen being found.
The investigation is ongoing, and anyone who has seen Copenace – or knows of her whereabouts – is asked to contact Kenora OPP at 807-548-5534 or 1-888-310-1122, plus CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
