Manitoba's Opposition introduced a motion of non-confidence in the legislature Monday.

PC leader Brian Pallister moved the motion on Monday.

"We have a divided government. It is divided and it is ineffectual," Pallister said in the chamber.

If successful, the motion would trigger an election.

But the measure has almost little chance of success as the NDP holds a majority, even without those NDP MLAs who have spoken out recently against Selinger.

And the dissidents have said they will continue to vote with the government.

Premier Selinger has insisted it's business as usual within the provincial government.

A vote on the motion isn't expected until next week.
