A Shamattawa man is facing charges after a 6-year-old boy was beaten.
It happened on the Shamattawa First Nation Sunday afternoon.
The 6-year-old is now in stable condition at the Children's hospital in Winnipeg.
Neil Steve Red-Head, age 31, was arrested shortly after the incident.
He's been charged with aggravated assault causing bodily harm and assault with a weapon.
RCMP continue to investigate, but so far say alcohol does not appear to be a factor.
