WINNIPEG -- Coach Mike O'Shea says his nominee for the most outstanding Winnipeg Blue Bomber this season is quarterback Drew Willy.

Willy and the Bombers (6-11) are preparing to bring the curtain down on their disappointing season Saturday in Calgary.

The Bombers got solid seasons out of receiver Clarence Denmark and rookie kicker Lirim Hajrullahu but O'Shea didn't hesitate when asked who his outstanding player pick might be.

Willy is a former Saskatchewan backup pivot who made his debut as a starter this season and has passed for 3,747 yards, good enough for the No. 2 spot on the CFL's passing list behind Toronto's Ricky Ray.

He'll get a chance to add to that number Saturday when he starts in Calgary against the league-leading Stampeders.

The Bombers saw their faint playoff hopes disappear last Saturday when they fell 28-23 to the B.C. Lions.
