Two Winnipeg city councillors want to hear the community’s suggestions on how to improve La Barriere Park.
It is just outside Winnipeg, in the RM of Richot, off Waverly Street.
Councillors, Janice Lukes and Brian Mayes, say the park is a popular place for kayakers and canoeists and should be better maintained.
They said that because there is no designated councillor for the park, it is neglected.
Porta potties have replaced a washroom building that is so worn down, it is too deteriorated to use.
La Barriere Park was formed by the City of Winnipeg back in 1969.
Lukes and Mayes are inviting the public to a meeting on how to better maintain the park.
It takes place Thursday, September 24 at 7:00 p.m. inside the St. Norbert Community Centre.
