WINNIPEG - The Winnipeg Jets re-assigned goaltender Peter Budaj to the St. John's IceCaps of the American Hockey League on Tuesday.
The veteran netminder was acquired last Sunday in a trade with Montreal. The Jets also picked up forward Patrick Holland in the deal in exchange for forward Eric Tangradi.
Budaj, who was drafted by Colorado in the second round of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, has played nine NHL seasons with the Avalanche and Canadiens.
The 32-year-old Slovak has a 124-107-36 career record with a 2.76 goals-against average, .903 save percentage and 11 shutouts. Budaj had a 10-8-3 mark last season in Montreal with a 2.51 GAA and .909 save percentage.
