Winnipeg police are looking for suspects after a woman was sexually assaulted early in July in the Transcona area.

Police said a 28-year-old woman was sexually assaulted by two strangers at the intersection of Plessis Road and North Meadow Drive around 4 a.m. on July 8.

The assault was interrupted by another woman who road up on a scooter and scared away the suspects, police said.

After the woman made sure the victim did not need medical attention, she left the scene without identifying herself.

Winnipeg police are now appealing to the public for information on the case. Anyone with information is asked to contact the sex crimes unit at 986-6245 or Crime Stoppers at 786-7477.
