In honour of Winnipeg once again being named Slurpee Capital of the World, 7-Eleven Canada attempted to create the world’s largest slurpee at a store on Salter Street.
The giant slurpee was poured into a 711 litre cup just after 11:00 a.m. Saturday.
The chain also promised to give away a total of 67,500 free slurpees at its locations throughout Winnipeg.
July 7 marks 46 years since the first 7-Eleven opened in Canada.
