A Winnipeg firefighter was injured while putting out a fire Monday afternoon.

Around 1:30 p.m., a call came in about a vehicle fire at an automotive repair shop on King Edward Street.

The firefighter suffered an injury while putting the fire out and was taken to hospital in stable condition.

Firefighters managed to keep the fire contained to the vehicle and interior of the building. Everyone managed to escape before firefighters arrived.

No word yet on the cause or extent of the damage.
