Police are investigating after a taxicab driver was stabbed Friday morning.

Police say at 3 a.m., emergency crews responded to the 500 block of Selkirk Avenue to a report of an injured taxicab driver. 

The driver had picked up a man and woman nearby, and after a short drive, the driver was stabbed in the upper-body. 

The pair fled the scene.

The victim was then transported to hospital in unstable condition, but has since been upgraded to stable.

Members of the Major Crimes Unit are now investigating.
