A vehicle crashed onto its roof in front of a school near Chancellor Drive and Markham Road in Winnipeg on Thursday.

The rollover happened around noon. Witnesses told CTV News the vehicle was travelling at a high rate of speed when it crashed into a stop sign and then took out a light pole before landing on its roof in front of the Arthur A. Leach School.

No students or staff were injured.

People on scene said the driver removed some propane tanks from the vehicle and then jumped into another car and took off.

Shortly afterwards, police put a man inside a cruiser for questioning, but hadn't made any arrests late Thursday afternoon.
