A brand of pet food has been recalled over concerns of listeria contamination.
Health Canada said Radagast Pet Food has recalled its Rad Cat Raw Diet Grass-Fed Beef sold in one and 16 ounce sizes. The recall affects 12 containers and 56 samples of the product.
Health Canada said the recalled food was sold between February 10 and June 23.
Pets can carry listeria monocytogenes bacteria and can pass it on to people, as well. Symptoms of listeriosis include vomiting, nausea, persistent fever, muscle aches, severe headaches and neck stiffness.
Pregnant women and elderly people with weakened immune systems are particularly at risk.
Anyone who bought the food should throw it out and claim for a refund. For more information, call Radagast Pet Food Inc. at 503-736-4649.
