Former mayoral candidate, David Sanders, has died after battling an illness.
His wife, Francoise Sanders, told CTV News her husband went to hospital in April to have some health concerns checked out. Then in May his condition worsened, and he was admitted to hospital.
Sanders, who ran for mayor in 2014, passed away on Sunday evening.
Francoise said her husband, a prominent lawyer, fought for justice and did a lot of pro bono work.
Sanders was 69 years old.
