The second high-profile candidate for mayor made it official Tuesday morning in Winnipeg.
With his wife and two young sons in tow, Winnipeg privacy lawyer Brian Bowman signed the papers at city hall.
Bowman said, while the next mayor will have to clean up some messes at city hall, he wants to look forward and not back.
The candidate said he does not want to be hampered by a commitment to freeze taxes but said he also wants to avoid raising them in any extreme way.
He would not say what he would do with a current plan before city council that sees property taxes go up two per cent every year to fix roads.
Former city councillor Gord Steeves signed his papers on Friday for his mayoral bid.
Councillors Scott Fielding and Paula Havixbeck are also eyeing a run at the top political job, and so too is former candidate Judy Wasylycia-Leis.
Mayor Sam Katz said he will make his future intentions known this summer.
