Two Winnipeg Walmarts have scaled back on their 24 hour service.
Walmart stores on Regent Avenue West and Empress Street will no longer be open 24 hours.
Starting Monday, Oct, 19, the stores will be open from Monday to Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. and Sunday 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
"We are always looking at how best to serve our customers with superior service and quality products while keeping our operating costs low so we can pass those savings along to our customers," a Walmart spokesperson wrote in a statement to CTV Monday.
"In the case of our Regent Avenue West and Empress Street locations, the foot traffic overnight does not warrant keeping the stores open 24-hours."
One staff member told CTV the new hours are because it was not profitable for them to stay open.
A store manager would only confirm the business decision.
The Walmart on McPhillips Street will remain open for 24 hours from Monday to Friday.
