The airline said the decision means more than 750 jobs for Winnipeg.
New leaf is promising to sell low-cost basic air transportation and vacation packages.
"NewLeaf has a new idea. It's time to give Canadians more affordable leisure choices right from their own home town This summer, we will begin offering nonstop and direct flights to great Canadian and U.S. leisure destinations,” said Jim Young, CEO of NewLeaf.
NewLeaf said scheduled flights, in partnership with Flair Airlines, will originate out of its bases in Kelowna, Winnipeg and Hamilton.
