Fire crews worked quickly to extinguish a blaze on a pair of semi-trailers Sunday morning, after what appeared to be a crash.
Just after 4:30 a.m., a van came in contact with two parked semi-trailers on Wall Street and St. Matthews Avenue. The semi was carrying cardboard, which quickly ignited.
Police said the fire spread to six semi-trailers that were parked nearby.
Crews were still working on extinguishing hot spots around noon Sunday, hours after the crash occurred.
Police said they are not yet sure how the vehicle came in contact with the semi-trailers.
Winnipeg police and fire officials are investigating the cause of the crash, and a damage estimate was not released Sunday.
