The Royal Albert Hotel in Winnipeg's Exchange District has gone up for sale.

Winnipeg businessman Daren Jorgenson owns the historic property. He says he hasn't been able to find a tenant to rent the bar and restaurant portion of the building, so he's decided to sell it.

Jorgensen says he has no desire to run the building himself.

He expects it to go up on the market for under $2 million, and hopes someone reopens it so it can be used as another music venue in the city.
