A man is in custody after a stabbing in the city's West End on Aug. 14.

Police said people in two apartment suites in the 500 block of Agnes Street got into a fight around 6:30 Tuesday night.

A woman and two men had been socializing in a suite while playing loud music. Another tenant directly above started jumping on the floor in an attempt to get the noise below to stop, said police.

Two men in the lower-level apartment went upstairs to confront the man, before being chased back into the lower-level apartment. The suspect from the upper level forced his way into the suite and a woman was stabbed, said police.

The suspect then fled.

Police arrested him in the area of Agnes Street near Wellington Avenue. A 42-year-old man is facing charges for assault with a weapon.
