Army, Navy and Air Force Veterans in Canada (ANAVETS) came together for the 53rd time for the Dominion Convention.

“The Army, Navy & Air Force Veterans in Canada is Canada’s oldest veterans’ association,” said a release.

Around 200 delegates and guests of ANAVETS arrived in Winnipeg for the convention to elect new leadership.

They will also approve resolutions that will guide the national organization’s advocacy efforts in Ottawa and support programs across the country.

On Sunday, delegates and other participants marched from the Delta Winnipeg to the Cenotaph on Memorial Boulevard for an official wreath-laying ceremony.

The parade continued down to the Manitoba legislature for a march.

Awards, presentations and other sessions will continue on until August 10.
